CRCS Sahara Refund Portal Registration Online (OTP Not Receive) for Claim Form 2023

New Delhi : By Arpit
The Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS), a part of the Ministry of Cooperatives, Government of India, has taken a significant step towards providing relief to depositors of the Sahara Group of Cooperative Societies. A new Sahara Refund Portal has been launched, offering a glimmer of hope to nearly 10 crore members whose investments have been stuck for an extended period. The portal aims to facilitate the refund of approximately Rs. 5,000 crore to these investors, following a Supreme Court order on March 29.
The Supreme Court had directed the transfer of ₹5,000 crore from the “Sahara-SEBI Refund Account” to CRCS, specifically to repay the depositors invested in the Sahara Cooperative Societies. In response to this order, the government has now introduced the Sahara Refund Portal, providing a streamlined and efficient process for claimants to reclaim their investments.
On July 18, 2023, the Hon’ble Union Minister for Home & Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, officially inaugurated the Sahara Refund Portal in New Delhi. This significant development aims to ease the financial burden faced by depositors who had been affected by the Sahara scam.
With a user-friendly interface, the portal is designed to be accessible and straightforward, ensuring that even individuals with limited internet knowledge can navigate the process of reclaiming their investments. By creating this platform, the government aims to complete the refund process within 45 days, offering much-needed respite to the depositors whose money was entangled in the Sahara scam.
The Sahara Refund Portal marks a crucial step towards addressing the long-standing issue of trapped investments, and it serves as a reassurance from the government to the depositors that their claims will be processed promptly. With this initiative, the government seeks to restore trust and confidence in the cooperative sector and ensure that depositors’ rights are protected.
