GMA Network has announced the upcoming broadcast of Voltes V: Legacy, a Philippine science fiction and fantasy television series, set to air in 2023. This highly anticipated show is a live-action adaptation based on the renowned Japanese anime Voltes V. Under the direction of Mark A. Reyes V, the cast includes talented actors such as Miguel Tanfelix, Radson Flores, Matt Lozano, Raphael Landicho, and Ysabel Ortega. On May 8, 2023, Voltes V: Legacy premiered on GMA Network’s Telebabad lineup, replacing Mga Lihim ni Urduja. For those unable to catch it on television, the series is also available for online streaming on YouTube. GMA Network secured the rights to produce this live-action adaptation through their collaboration with Telesuccess Productions, the Philippine licensee of Toei Company and Sunrise, the creators of the original Voltes V anime series.

Neil Ryan Sese finally made his acting debut as Dr. Hook in “Voltes V: Legacy.” In the upcoming episode on Thursday, the Boazanian forces infiltrate Camp Big Falcon after falling into a trap set by a humanoid spy working for Prince Zardoz. The spy, disguised as Ned Armstrong, manages to deceive them. The invasion causes significant damage, posing a threat to the camp as its protective barrier becomes non-functional. However, in their time of crisis, Dr. Hook emerges. The engineering department estimates that it will take more than two hours to repair and activate the barrier. As a result, General Oscar Robinson (Gabby Eigenmann) entrusts the newcomer with the camp’s control, along with emergency settings provided to the technicians to activate the barrier without the need for immediate repairs.

Upon the experts’ inquiry about the feasibility of the suggestion following damage to the Volt Frigate, Little Jon expressed agreement. Little Jon had already returned to the camp at that juncture. After implementing the new configurations, the CBF barrier successfully reactivated, providing a shield against further attacks. However, it was only after Dr. Richard Smith (Albert Martinez) tragically lost his life at the hands of the humanoid spy that Dr. Hook made his appearance. Dr. Smith had been a beloved figure and mentor to the majority of the Voltes V team, and they mourned his passing. In a solemn act, they paid their respects to his remains and bid him a final salute.
